Thank you for considering volunteering. There are
many valuable ways you can help the families that stay with us. You
can volunteer once or once a week, and you can do it on your own or
with a group. Below are some ideas or you can contact our Director
of Volunteer Services.
GOT A LITTLE TIME?
These projects can be done in an afternoon...
Meals
Our families spend long days at the hospital, and have little energy
to make dinner when they return to the House at night. Almost every
night, our families enjoy home cooked, nourishing meals.

Snacks
Volunteers are welcome to make trail mix, bake cookies or prepare
other snacks for guests to eat on the go.

Toiletries
Since many of our guests leave their homes suddenly, they may not have all the personal care items they need when they arrive. Small sizes of toothpaste, soap, deodorant and other products are helpful.
Goody Bags
To help with long days at the hospital volunteers create bags full
of "goodies" for our guests. The bags can include puzzle
books (Word Search, Suduko), lotion, pens, pencils, stickers, coloring
books, playing cards, stuffed animals, toiletries, notepads, etc...
Your imagination is the limit! (no medicines or food, please). Contact
us at AbbyB@
rmhwinstonsalem.org or call (336) 723-0228 x1003 for more information.
Pop Tabs and Pennies
Unfortunately, we don't have the space needed for the pop tab collection project, but if you already have tabs, American Legion Post #55 will be glad to recycle them for you and give our House the proceeds. They are located at 111 Miller St., Winston-Salem and their phone number is (336) 724-0660.
Instead of starting a pop tab program, we would like
to suggest a penny drive campaign. Click below for more information:

Luminary volunteers help us assemble kits, deliver them to retail
locations, and serve as street or neighborhood captains, collecting
luminary orders for their neighbors. Click
here for information about how you can get involved.
Sport A Shirt, Share

Family Support Volunteers act as a "sounding board" for
the families who are staying at the RMH and participate in special

primary responsibility is to interact with the families and act as
a friend in a time of need. Extensive training is required prior to
